New York!

Our first look at the New York Skyline!
We came in through the Lincoln tunnel, just like Buddy the Elf!
This was the fun group of girls I got to chaperon.  They were actually really good.  They even trusted me to take them on the subway, and they didn't refuse to go with me any more when I took them to the New York Courthouse to use the bathroom.  We had to take off all our bags, belts and jackets so they could be searched, PLUS the guy that was in front of us in line got cuffed and led away right before our eyes!
The Brooklyn Bridge was INCREDIBLE.  So much more massive than I expected.  Tons of people walking over it and hardly any of them spoke English.

Fun view of the Manhattan Skyline from the Brooklyn Bridge
The New York subway.  Not nearly as scary as I remember, but we did see a beggar that freaked Krislee out.
Times Square.  Crazy, crazy busy.  I would hate to be there at New Years.  Krislee's favorite store here was the Disney Store, of course.
We had to snap a picture of all the garbage that collects during a day.  Piles and Piles all along the street every night.
Ok,  Us crazies who watch QVC at Christmas time know how they love to sell Juniors cheesecake.  They make it look so good, so we had to try some while in New York and it was DELICIOUS!
Lady Liberty.  Unfortunately we only got to drive around her on the boat.  We stopped at Ellis Island where me, Krislee and one of my other girls go left.  We totally missed the ferry the rest of the 150 maryville people got on.  I was being a Howard and waiting until the last minute.  Oh well.  I was reminded of why I didn't mind leaving New York.  The ferry guy was totally New York rude to us.

I finally got to see a Broadway show and now I am completely hooked!  More expensive than a movie ($126)  but oh wow.  It was INCREDIBLE  the way they built the seats everyone has a clear shot with now heads in way.
The set was incredible and the cast was amazing.  I am ready to see it again.
Carnegie Hall the reason why we came.  Unfortunately you can take no pictures inside.  This is the poster that was outside.  Oh.  I will have to find my close up.  Maryville is listing on there.

Too bad they are doing a major reconstruction.  Scaffolding Everywhere!

This is after the performance and the did fabulous!  She was all smiles.  The Orchestra that went before was good, but when they set up for Maryville they kept bringing out stacks and stacks of chairs.  They barely fit on the Carnegie Stage. It looked so neat.  We are getting a picture of that from the festival.  I can't wait to see it!

More of what we have been up to!

Karlee and I were able to go to Nashville last week so that she could participate in the Tennessee Honor Choir.  She was selected from several hundred who auditioned to go.  She has such a pretty voice!  We stopped by the Parthenon in Nashville before heading to the Opryland Hotel.  It is an exact replica of the original in Greece.  If anyone has seen the movie PERCY JACKSON this is the statue of Athena they used.
We went out to eat with the other kids from her school that went.  She ordered a HUGE plate of catfish, cod, crab cakes and frog legs!
Karlee and two of her friends Sarah and Rachel.  (they also live just down the street!)
This is the honor choir from all over the state.  Of course Maryville had the most kids.  They could only send in ten audition tapes from each school.  This year Maryville had ALL ten accepted.  They performed in the Tennessee Ball Room of the Opryland Hotel.
The Maryville kids with their teacher Mrs. Robinson
Carter Also turned 6 on April 5.  I can't believe he is that old.  He sure is cute though.

We went to Atlanta last weekend for the Atlanta Temple Open House.  We stopped by World of Coca-Cola before.  This is kara trying the really nasty Italian drink "beverly"
 Outside Coke world
You can drink to your hearts content!
Carter loved this burping coke machine
The totally redone Atlanta Temple is gorgeous.  It was so hot and humid that day it reminded me of the day Chris and I were married in the middle of July.
This fun park is the Olympic Centennial Park in downtown Atlanta.  It brought back memories of when Chris and I went to the Atlanta Olympics

It was a SUPER cold and windy day!

This is a project I am working on.  I am almost finished and LOVE the way it looks!
